Ways to Celebrate NYE Safely

Believe it or not, the new year is just around the corner. While this year felt different than most, it is time to ultimately say goodbye to this unusual year in a way that is equally as odd compared to the years past. While we can’t exactly travel to watch the ball drop or make champagne toasts with friends, there are still ways to celebrate this year end in a safe way.

Read below for some ideas to celebrate this year, both at-home and in socially distanced ways in town. We have provided some local businesses to support as well, click on their title for a direct link to their website for more information.

Order a Takeout Meal

While there are endless options around town for amazing restaurants to order takeout from, there are some local restaurants that would be a fantastic addition. Try takeout from Pismos Coastal Grill, The Crafthouse, or Annex Fresno. Or, you can never go wrong with some Fresno favorites, Dog House Grill, House of Juju, and Salsas Cantina. Whatever option you chose, we can guarantee it will be delicious!

Order Cocktails To-Go

Dinner & drinks on NYE is the perfect match! While similar to restaurants with an abundance of options, we think Modernist in Fresno would be the perfect place to fetch your favorite drinks from. They recently opened this past year with the main goal to bring people together through authentic experiences centered around craft cocktails. Plus, their website makes it super accessible to order drinks to-go.

Write Your Resolutions

Nearly everyone has been patiently (or not so patiently..) waiting for the new year. Why not start off on the right foot with some resolutions?! Take a few moments to write down a few resolutions, goals, and intentions to keep in mind this upcoming year.

Act of Kindness

A fantastic way to begin the new year would be to give back to others. Afterall, the holiday season is all about giving back. This could mean cleaning through that old closet and donating clothes, delivering cookies to your neighbors, or even picking up trash throughout your neighborhood. We believe that giving back is the ultimate way to spread positivity, so what better way to kick off the new year!

Watch the Ball Drop

Is it even a NYE without watching the Ball drop in NYC? While this year will look a little different in Times Square, you can still watch the event on ABCNews.com, Facebook Watch or the ABC News app
